We will be performing scheduled maintenance on the server that holds all the FreeTechs customer accounts on Sunday November 23rd at 11:00pm EST. During this time we will be upgrading our Apache web server to version 2.2.10 (from 1.3.4x). We will also be upgrading the operating system.

This upgrade will provide us with a higher level of performance and security. During the upgrade we will also be instilling a new set of mod_security rules which will add to the overall protection of the site. We will also be upgrading our firewall software which help deflect distributed denial of service attacks and ensure that our site is kept functioning at optimal levels.

The server will stay online during this time however while the Apache service is recompiled the site will be unavailable for an estimated 30-45 minutes. During this time an “Under Maintenance” page will be displayed.

Thanks for your patience

PS This site will remain online through the whole process. The FreeTechs hosting pages and ticket system are on the customer server, and will be down during the maintenance. Please post any issues or concerns here or contact me via email.

This will not be a problem for the FreeTechs customer sites. That server will be performed at a later date. I will notify our customers when their server maintenance.

Hi,

For those of you who were checking the RSS feed I was importing to this forum, here's the link:

http://news.zdnet.com/2509-1009_22-0-10.xml

I stopped the auto post because I'm not sure what will become of this forum in the near future. I may use the license for another tech site if they need it to update their site. If not, I'll update this board to the newest software, and change it into a different site.

I may combine the MarksPics photo site and the new forum software with the blog and gallery into a new site.

You may see a change here soon.

Thanks for your support smile.gif
